About the role

We are recruiting a Quantity Surveyor (Contract) to support a large-scale programme in the defence sector.
You will manage commercial aspects of sub-contracts from procurement through interim and final account, advise project and operations teams on contract performance and commercial issues, and establish forecasting/reporting for project commercial performance.
The role includes securing labour, materials, and subcontractors to deliver on time and within budget; leading tendering activities in line with sourcing strategies and applicable legislation; and working with stakeholders to resolve issues and conclude commercial disputes and claims.

Experience & Qualifications

Must Have;

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.

• QS experience within a relevant construction sector.

• Proven delivery of services/construction contracts with strong grasp of contracting and pricing routes.

• Ability to work to time constraints and manage multiple workstreams.

Desirable;

• Membership      (or working towards) of a professional body (e.g., RICS/MCIPS).

• Robust understanding of NEC3/NEC4.

• Experience leading or coaching a small team.
