About the role
We are recruiting a Project Controls Lead to support a growing function and embed recent ways of working across an integrated project team (IPT).
You will be accountable for the quality and integrity of project controls across projects/programmes, applying consistent processes, governance, and best-practice methods.
Working within the IPT, you will drive schedule quality, apply schedule risk analysis, and ensure partner/subcontractor schedules integrate cleanly. You’ll run “what-if”/scenario analysis to inform decisions and risk mitigation, ensure appropriate metrics (including EV) are applied and acted upon, and optimise resource scheduling across the portfolio.
The role includes contributing project-controls leadership to bids/tenders for smooth transition into execution, leading inputs to project reviews, and coaching/mentoring the wider controls community to uplift capability.

Expert user of Primavera P6 (and/or an enterprise planning/ERP tool).
Proven application of Schedule Risk Analysis (identification, analysis methods, recommendations).
Strong grasp of EV/metrics, governance, and best-practice planning techniques (including Agile-aware delivery).
Ability to lead within an IPT, influence cross-functional teams, and present to senior stakeholders.
Experience coaching, mentoring, or leading a small team.
Works independently, knows when to escalate, and can act as delegate for a Project/Programme Controls Manager.
Eligible for UK baseline personnel security screening (BPSS) and potentially SC/DV.
Desirable;
APMG Project Controls Foundation/Practitioner (or readiness to undertake).
Familiarity with wider project controls/reporting toolsets (e.g., ERP, cost, and risk systems).
