Principal Control & Instrumentation Engineer

Location: Hybrid (Birmingham, England, United Kingdom) 

About the role 

We are recruiting for a Principal Control & Instrumentation Engineer to support a complex capital project environment. The role is based in Birmingham, England, United Kingdom and is offered on a hybrid basis. 

This opportunity sits within the Engineering sector. A principal EC&I role supporting conceptual through detailed engineering and into construction and CQV phases. 

We are seeking a Principal Control & Instrumentation Engineer to lead instrumentation engineering execution while mentoring junior engineers and supporting bids and tenders. 

Key responsibilities will include 

• plan and execute instrumentation engineering services and deliverables.

• Support conceptual, basic and detailed design phases through to construction and CQV.

• Provide technical leadership, coaching and quality assurance within the team.

Experience & Qualifications 

Must Have; 

• Degree-qualified in a related engineering discipline. 

• Strong control and instrumentation design experience including specifications and fieldbus technologies. 

•  Excellent communication skills and ability to work in multi-discipline delivery teams. 

• Ability to plan and execute instrumentation engineering services and deliverables. 

• Ability to support conceptual, basic and detailed design phases through to construction and CQV.

Desirable; 

• Experience within Engineering environments.
